The moment when the edit and graphics of a video of finalized. Achieving picture lock allows post-production to move on to color grading and audio mixing. This is an important milestone during post-production and marks a sort of “point of no return”: both color and sound require that no further changes are made to the edit and graphics. If changes are made after work has begun on color and sound, all that work has to be re-done from scratch.
